As part of the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 today, Activision also confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone is going away on legacy platforms. Starting with MW4 Season 1 (which itself is expected "shortly" after the game releases on October 23), Warzone will no longer be playable on PS4 and Xbox One. One of the big gripes around last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was its always-online requirement for its campaign. Progress was often tedious--especially if you had a spotty online connection--and you couldn't even pause the game without risking death and a checkpoint restart. Fortunately, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 looks set to rectify that point of content, as its single-player campaign will be playable offline.
