Activision has clarified a key detail about the upcoming Call of Duty movie from director Peter Berg and writer Taylor Sheridan. At Fanatics Fest this weekend, Berg confirmed that the movie takes place in the Modern Warfare universe. For the first time in two years, the annual Call of Duty release, Modern Warfare 4, will not come to Xbox Game Pass at launch. To help hammer that point home, Activision is rolling out a new ad campaign reminding people they need to buy the game outright to play it at launch.
