The rumors about a new God of War game proved to be true during Sony's latest State of Play event. That's why the reveal of God of War Laufey wasn't unexpected. What was a surprise was its cubic, talking, gelatin-like companion character, Phranque (as voiced by The Boys' Jack Quaid), is the character who turned out to be the breakout star of State of Play. Faye looks to be the lead character in the newly announced God of War game. Santa Monica is also working on a remake of the original God of War trilogy. A live-action TV adaptation is also in the works with Amazon Prime Video, with production on the series now underway. A live-service God of War game, however, was reportedly canceled in 2025..
