All of the cyberpunk media that Cyberpunk 2077 is based on features wet and wild weather. But where does that come from? We examine the wetness of cyberpunk as a whole, and assess whether Cyberpunk 2077 lives up to the legacy of wetness established in films like Blade Runner.

Overwatch's next hero is a dual-wielding cyberpunk demon named Shion, developer Blizzard has revealed, and she looks like she's ripped straight from Cyberpunk 2077. Shion is billed as "the most terrifying elder of the Hashimoto Clan," a Japanese criminal family that has ties to the global terrorist organization Talon and is behind the assassination of Sojiro Shimada, the father of Hanzo and Genji. That should make for some interesting story developments between the two brothers and Shion, with Kiriko and Mizuki also shown in artwork for the new season and presumably set to play a role as well.

Sales of CD Projekt Red's 2020 RPG Cyberpunk 2077 continue to grow, as the game has now passed 40 million copies sold. This counts copies sold through July 3, including sales of the base game and copies sold through the game's ultimate edition. "Thank you all for helping us reach this amazing milestone," the developer said. The big new sales milestone came after Steam's latest sale saw the game's price fall down to $18, representing a discount of 70%.
