Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered still has that immediate sense of joy I felt playing it when I was a kid. And it looks stunning. This may be billed as a remaster, but developer Pipeworks hasn’t just juiced the resolution and called it a destroyed city. These monsters – and the environments they’re rampaging through – look great.

We went hands-on with Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, one of the few games willing to go toe-to-toe with Grand Theft Auto 6 this November.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered will take on GTA 6 when both games launch this November, but the team behind the arena fighter said Rockstar's latest was "never part of our thinking" when choosing a release date.

IGN spoke with Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered senior designer Simon Strange to hear about the game fans have long pleaded for — but never thought would actually happen.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is the only remaster Pipeworks can confirm for now, but "a lot of stuff is on the table," and there are "a lot of conversations to be had" in the future.
