Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was officially announced today, and it'll be releasing in October. Prior to its full launch, however, the game will have an open beta, and as per usual, you're going to have an opportunity to get in early. The open beta was confirmed via a post on the official Call of Duty blog, but Activision went short of saying exactly when the beta will be. As part of the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 today, Activision also confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone is going away on legacy platforms. Starting with MW4 Season 1 (which itself is expected "shortly" after the game releases on October 23), Warzone will no longer be playable on PS4 and Xbox One. The game itself will be delisted for new downloads on those platforms on June 4, though anyone who still has the game can keep playing.
