Sony’s big State of Play announcement was God of War Laufey, the next game in Sony Santa Monica’s God of War franchise due out exclusively for PlayStation 5. While the fact the game would focus on Faye as opposed to Kratos had leaked months before the showcase, it’s fair to say Sony’s 20 minute gameplay reveal sparked a vociferous reaction across the internet.

God of War Laufey was only just announced, but already fans of the series have theories about what will happen, and they don't sound too far-fetched.

One of the big reveals from the PlayStation State of Play this week was a new God of War game called God of War: Laufey. The PS5 game mixes things up by focusing on Laufey instead of Kratos, but some things are staying the same. It has been confirmed that Bear McCreary, who composed the music for 2018's God of War and 2022's God of War: Ragnarok, is coming back for Laufey. "I am honored to return to the God of War saga, as the composer of God of War Laufey," he said. All of the new LEGO releases for June are now available to buy, and there's a lot to choose from this time around. Unlike last month, however, there are surprisingly few new Star Wars sets to choose from. In fact, there are only two: The Up-Scaled Darth Vader Minifigure and the Imperial Remnant AT-AT Driver Helmet.Despite a smaller selection for June, one of these sets is already so popular the LEGO Store that it's hit backorder status on day one. The giant Darth Vader Minifigure is available to purchase, but it won't ship out for another 60 days when purchased directly from LEGO.

Though it takes place in the same world as the 2018 God of War reboot, and God of War Ragnarök, God of War Laufey surprisingly borrows some of the most defining characteristics of the original trilogy. Read more
