As the summer gaming season starts to heat up, Sony has announced a new State of Play Showcase for June 2 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET.This will be one of the bigger State of Play livestreams of the year, clocking in at 60 minutes and kicking off with a new look at Insomniac's upcoming Wolverine game alongside "updates, announcements, and gameplay reveals" from other studios across the world. As usual, the showcase can be watched live through the official PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels.Alongside State of Play, June is shaping up to be a busy month for gaming showcases. This month's batch of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers has been revealed. All PS Plus members will be able to claim a trio of freebies starting July 7--Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, For the King 2, and CrossCode. If you haven't claimed June's PlayStation Plus free games yet, make sure to do so before next Tuesday. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 isn't exactly a high point for the franchise, but at the very least, the 2023 game was a comfortably familiar experience. Sony has raised subscription prices for all tiers of PlayStation Plus: Essential, Extra, and Premium.

PlayStation Plus Essential, the cheapest tier of PlayStation Plus, is about to get a little more expensive, Sony announced.
