Streaming can give free publicity to a game, but in the case of story-heavy genres like RPGs, there’s the danger that people will be satisfied just watching someone else play through the game. Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi recently spoke out about this, saying that gameplay streams pose a huge challenge to RPG makers, as they need to ensure that their game is interesting enough that players actually want to pick it up and play it themselves.

The NES, SNES, and Game Boy Nintendo Switch Online apps all received mysterious updates (to versions 9.0.0, 6.0.0, and 4.0.0, respectively), and a prolific dataminer has claimed that these patches are meant to add challenges. Nintendo showed off a new limited-time Donkey Kong event for Switch Online subscribers on Switch 2 at today's Nintendo Direct. Called DK Challenge, the experience sees players completing tasks across Donkey Kong games, ranging from Donkey Kong Country to even Donkey Kong Bananza (if you own the Switch 2 exclusive). DK Challenge is accessed through the Nintendo Switch Online app on the Switch 2 Home Screen.
