Capcom has revealed a Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake, delighting fans of the franchise watching this year's Summer Game Fest livestream.

Resident Evil Requiem is only a few months old, but Capcom is already lifting the veil on its next game--the long-rumored Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake, now titled as simply Resident Evil Veronica. Just like (well, not just like) the original 2000 game, Resident Evil: Veronica will be played from a third-person perspective. The news was shared with GameSpot during a group Q&A session at Summer Game Fest, which is also where Capcom officially announced the game to the public. The original Resident Evil: Code Veronica was also played in third-person--just like most of the older Resident Evil games--but it utilized the clunkier "tank" controls of the PlayStation originals.
