Silent Hill fans have long treated the titular town as essential to the franchise. But the latest game may prove that's not true.

Over the past few years, we've seen a major revival of the Silent Hill franchise, with 2024's Silent Hill 2 remake offering a spectacular reimagining of one of the series' most beloved entries while titles like Silent Hill f and Townfall propel the series forward and seek to redefine what a Silent Hill game can be. Turns out, having so many Silent Hill projects developed at the same time was a deliberate strategy set by Konami, and a way to prove to fans that it's serious about the franchise's future.
