Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has wrapped filming, and director Jeff Fowler's post about it suggests Metal Sonic will play a major role

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 director Jeff Fowler has published a first look at Metal Sonic as filming on the latest movie comes to an end.

Though you may have forgotten about it, a Streets of Rage movie has been in the works since 2022. Originally, Hollywood's current go-to action screenwriter Derek Kolstad (of John Wick fame) was attached. Now, the slow-moving project has evolved and recruited two new writers, plus a director. The Sinking City 2 has made big changes in the hopes of capitalizing on the untapped potential left to float in the void in the first game. A better, more interesting protagonist; a revamped and easier to parse investigation system; and better-paced missions might help this eldritch sequel rise above clever curiosity for fans of tentacle-tinged horror and into must-play territory for everyone this time around, so long as it’s not held back by the underwhelming combat and puzzles that nagged the previous game and don’t seem to be fully solved here just yet.

The Witcher saga is up to nine books now, and CD Projekt Red should start directly adapting their stories and characters for new video games.
