A new trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved confirmed the game's release date and showed a new look at the three brand-new missions for the game.

Over the weekend, Halo Studios released a 6-hour video of the Halo: Campaign Evolved main menu, which, as you’d expect, contains the iconic Halo music from the original game. But what you might not have expected is the debate the remake’s new Halo ring has sparked, and some fans calling it too detailed.

When Master Chief first sets foot on the unknown ringworld known as Halo, he is fighting for his life. Harried and ambushed by countless enemy ships, Chief's commanding officer scuttles their intergalactic craft upon the ringworld - assuming the human troops will fare better on this structure than face a cold, indifferent death in the vacuum of space. Halo: Campaign Evolved speaks to the series' timelessness and adds a decent set of new missions, but it's a mostly a lean retread that's clearly a test run for its future with Unreal Engine.

A neat, but fundamentally flawed remake that doesn't always understand the appeal of Halo.
