Matthew Lillard is a very busy man, but if he has some downtime you can find him kicking butt at FIFA. We met up with Lillard at videogamesnewyork ahead of the Scream 7 premiere, to take a walk through his gaming memories — from getting destroyed by Dragon's Lair at the arcades when he was a kid, to getting carried by his son in Apex Legends.He may not be good — and he'll be the first to tell you that! — but he's in it for the fun.

In an age where single-player first-person shooters are slowly going extinct because they only make money for their publisher once while multiplayer live-service shooters vie for our time and attention on a daily basis (and often contain lots of bullsh*t, like microtransactions and/or drawn-out gameplay loops), Metro 2039’s single-player-only craftsmanship and attention to detail after my first few hours with it have me already prepared to call it my favorite first-person shooter in a long time.

K-pop idol and actor Matthew Kim (or Big Matthew, as fans of the group KARD know him) moved to Korea to pursue a career in entertainment — but games keep him in touch with his family. His love of video games started with his father, who was "nasty" on Super Mario, and continues today when he plays Call of Duty: Warzone with his little brother.
