What was a surprise was its cubic, talking, gelatin-like companion character, Phranque (as voiced by The Boys' Jack Quaid), is the character who turned out to be the breakout star of State of Play. God of War Laufey was only just announced, but already fans of the series have theories about what will happen, and they don't sound too far-fetched.

Sony’s big State of Play announcement was God of War Laufey, the next game in Sony Santa Monica’s God of War franchise due out exclusively for PlayStation 5. While the fact the game would focus on Faye as opposed to Kratos had leaked months before the showcase, it’s fair to say Sony’s 20 minute gameplay reveal sparked a vociferous reaction across the internet.

One of the big reveals from the PlayStation State of Play this week was a new God of War game called God of War: Laufey. The PS5 game mixes things up by focusing on Laufey instead of Kratos, but some things are staying the same. It has been confirmed that Bear McCreary, who composed the music for 2018's God of War and 2022's God of War: Ragnarok, is coming back for Laufey. "I am honored to return to the God of War saga, as the composer of God of War Laufey," he said. McCreary went on to say he's been working on Laufey for "years" already, collaborating with a "stunningly talented team of devel
