During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Ubisoft announced the next game in the long-running Tom Clancy series: Rainbow 6 Tactics. Ubisoft just announced Rainbow Six Tactics, a single-player turn-based tactics game starring 15 fan-favorite Operators from the popular long-running multiplayer first-person shooter Rainbow Six Siege. I had the chance to talk to Tactics game director Martial Potron about creating the first single-player Rainbow Six game since Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in 2008, including his thoughts on other franchises that have successfully pivoted genres, the importance of being a tactics game first, and more.

Ubisoft has announced Rainbow Six Tactics, an upcoming turn-based tactics game starring familiar Rainbow Six Siege Operators. Revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live showcase, it will retail for $49.99 and is due out in 2027 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. It's the first single-player game in the franchise since Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2008.
