The N-Gage port of Tomb Raider is a 3D game closely modeled after 1997's Tomb Raider II on PlayStation. Rather than feature a side-scrolling perspective as in previous handheld efforts, Tomb Raider maintains the console and computer's third-person perspective from behind globetrotting archaeologist Lara Croft. While navigating the 3D worlds in an attempt to recover a relic known as the Scion, players can run, jump, climb, shimmy across ledges, and perform various other acrobatic maneuvers. Along the way the intrepid explorer must defend herself from hungry wolves and rival treasure hunters using her trademark dual pistols or an assortment of other weapons found during her journey.

Tomb Raider Catalyst Quietly Gets Delayed To 2028
Out of nowhere, the second major Tomb Raider game, Catalyst from developer Crystal Dynamics, has been stealthily delayed by Amazon Game Studios. In a lengthy interview with The Game Business on July 23, Amazon Games' boss Jeff Gattis sneakily mentioned that Tomb Raider Catalyst would duck its 2027 release window, instead releasing in 2028. "We have announced the two Tomb Raider titles," Gattis said. "[Legacy of] Atlantis comes February 12 next year, and then we'll follow on in 2028 with the next one. We’re excited about those. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis feels strangely double-A
I am not a Tomb Raider expert - my memories go about as far back as playing the bulk of the original and its sequel at a friend's house, aged something like seven to 10 years old, and attempting to break free of the same demo disc level for a few too many hours on end. But what I've always taken from my fuzzy recollections of late-90s Lara is that one of classic Tomb Raider's defining traits is its precision. Jump exactly here. Land exactly there.
