Video games are great, that's why we're here! But some things about video games are greater than others. And so in the spirit of Eurogamer's Optimism Week - a chance to reflect on just how special the medium can be, at a time it isn't always easy to remember - we thought we'd switch tack; moving away from the big things, to the little things. Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is the next game in the Hot Wheels racing series, and this time it’s going open world.

Great racing games have an x-factor that sets them apart from their peers, but you could argue that the genre hasn't meaningfully evolved over the decades. Star Wars: Galactic Racer aims to change that perception, as the new title from developer Fuse Games looks to other genres for inspiration. While it might look like a spiritual successor to 1999's Star Wars Episode 1: Pod Racer, Galactic Racer adds in some roguelite flavor and a dash of Burnout to its take on high-speed competition in a galaxy far, far away. Aspyr Media shadowdropped a new "Legacy Edition" of the 2011 The Lord of the Rings game, War in the North, earlier this week. It won't be the last The Lord of the Rings re-release from Aspyr, as the company has confirmed "even more classic releases" from The Lord of the Rings series are coming "in the future."
