The summer wave of video game announcements is nearly upon us, with a PlayStation State of Play, Summer Game Fest Live, and an Xbox Showcase already scheduled within a six-day span of one another. A new Sonic Racing: Crossworlds trailer has unveiled some unexpected crossovers, including with classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. All 52 users who have written Sonic/Eva fanfiction on the hosting website Archive Of Our Own took a collective breath in. The brand deal was revealed as part of a Sonic 35th anniversary hype reel at Summer Game Fest 2026.
