Sony’s big State of Play announcement was God of War Laufey, the next game in Sony Santa Monica’s God of War franchise due out exclusively for PlayStation 5. While the fact the game would focus on Faye as opposed to Kratos had leaked months before the showcase, it’s fair to say Sony’s 20 minute gameplay reveal sparked a vociferous reaction across the internet.

Just a couple months after debuting in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, the Warlock is coming to Diablo Immortal on June 17.At least based on the announcement trailer for the new class, the Warlock looks extremely similar to its Diablo 4 counterpart, what with all the demons and the fiery chains that are surely going to cover the entire screen. God of War Laufey was only just announced, but already fans of the series have theories about what will happen, and they don't sound too far-fetched.

The rumors about a new God of War game proved to be true during Sony's latest State of Play event. That's why the reveal of God of War Laufey wasn't unexpected. What was a surprise was its cubic, talking, gelatin-like companion character, Phranque (as voiced by The Boys' Jack Quaid), is the character who turned out to be the breakout star of State of Play.
