Return of Reckoning is the fan-made continuation of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. A small group of players started recording as much information from the last few weeks of the official servers being online with the hope that one day they would be able to play again. Shortly after the servers shut down work began on rewriting the server code with the goal of bringing Warhammer Online back online. Every monster in the world had to be replaced, every quest had to be restored and gaps in archives filled in. Every public quest, dungeon boss, game mechanic had to be coded and scripted again. Return of Reckoning officially opened its website and account creation to the public on June 11th, 2014. Since then, we have spent more time developing this game than the original game was in service. Re-implementing content to bring it back to the live state, making balance changes to classes, and re-creating old live events. We have also created new custom content from the fragments recovered while deconstructing client files, as well as original content built entirely from scratch.
