We Die Standing is a tactical third-person sci-fi shooter that blends heavy, cover-based firefights with dynamic zero-gravity combat. Set across a star system devastated by a massive dimensional tear, players take control of Vanguard-7, a heavily armored Praetorian enforcer. The primary antagonists are "The Swarm," a hyper-intelligent, bio-mechanical hive-mind that actively assimilates human military technology, allowing enemy units to utilize scavenged firearms, heavy artillery, and squad tactics. The core gameplay loop centers on adapting to fractured environmental physics. As the spatial anomaly destabilizes the region, localized gravity can dynamically fail, instantly transitioning grounded shootouts into 360-degree floating combat. Players must utilize the Praetorian suit's integrated thrusters to navigate mid-air battlefields, flank entrenched alien gunners, and manage momentum while exchanging fire alongside floating debris, uprooted terrain, and ruined infrastructure. The full campaign spans multiple large-scale planetary environments. Players will fight through the dense jungles and fortified coastal military bases of Veridia Prime, navigate the zero-gravity wreckage of shattered orbital defense stations, and clear out heavily corrupted subterranean bunkers on dead moons.
