CD Projekt Red has shared new footage and disclosed more details about The Witcher 3's upcoming Songs of the Past expansion, and that includes confirmation that you can indeed pet the dog. Finally. This is very welcome news, as The Witcher 3 did not originally allow players to do this (except for in one mission where Geralt saves a dog from wolves). The major new DLC, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past, will be shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live in late August, CDPR confirms.

The Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past - which is due to arrive 12 years after the base game was released - has finally been detailed in a debut trailer, but the surprise news is there's also a The Witcher 3 - Remastered edition coming that considerably overhauls the game, and it'll be a free upgrade for all existing owners of the game.
