God of War Laufey was only just announced, but already fans of the series have theories about what will happen, and they don't sound too far-fetched.

Until now, Kratos was the primary star of every God of War game. However, his late wife, Faye, is taking the spotlight in God of War Laufey. But when Faye picks up her sword, veteran God of War fans may recognize the influence that the original Greek trilogy had on her fighting style. Production on God of War is expected to resume this fall after filming was halted, with the Prime Video series still carrying a two-season order.

While God of War Laufey is taking a fascinating leap by shifting the perspective to Faye, it still looks much too similar to Kratos' Norse saga to cement its own identity.
