Fans will have to wait for official word on a Ghost Recon Wildlands definitive edition and the reveal of Project OVR.

Ubisoft is giving PC players a free Ghost Recon game through Ubisoft Connect until August 13 as part of the series' 25th anniversary celebration.

Ubisoft has confirmed that it will share what's next for Ghost Recon when it celebrates the series' 25th anniversary on August 6. This comes after several reports and rumors about upcoming Ghost Recon games emerged over the past month. On July 20, Insider Gaming reported on a leak of the Ghost Recon: Wildlands Definitive Edition, a current-generation remaster of the 2017 game that will add a new mission, support 4K resolution, and run at 60 frames per second. It claimed that this is part of an "upgrade treatment" initiative within Ubisoft, and meant to tide players over until the next mainline
